PEEP roast

We started a new tradition this year. The "peep" roast. After a full day of hunting baskets, conference, movie theater,and an Easter egg hunt we finished the evening with a campfire. Of course we had to have smores. No one in our house actually eats the marshmallow peeps that are an Easter basket standard so we decided to try and roast them for our smores....It didn't work but the kids had a great time skewering the peeps and watching them melt over the fire.

The 2010 Pinewood derby is at an end. We had SOOOO much fun this year making our cars. As you can see Hadden put A LOT of thought time and effort into his first car. We even purchased some earrings from Europe so his rocket boosters would light up. This was Soren's last race as a cub scout. I remember all the effort he put into his first car. This year we were putting the finishing touches on his car the morning of the race. Soren placed 1st for Webelo 1 and Hadden got 2nd for wolves at the district race. Soren placed 1st and Hadden 2nd at the pack race. We had a leader’s race this year. Both Nate and I built a car. Nate won the Cub favorite award for his "moon cheese". My car won first place in the actual derby (in fact it beat Soren's) 

FANTASTICAL face painting

I started painting my children’s faces for fun. Sparkly princesses, holidays, sports, etc. In Lumberton Football is HUGE so I started volunteering to paint cheek art at the local elementary schools for home games as a PTO fundraiser. After spending 5 hrs on a Saturday painting various masks at a school event Nate has convinced me to take the leap and start a business.... I'm scared and excited. I hope my skills are good enough to turn a profit. My first "official" job will be a booth at the opening of little league. Wish me luck :)

Trying this out

I've been told "do a blog, it's SO easy"..... So why am I finding this a nightmare. I guess as with all things it's trial and error. So I'm going to try to upload some pictures and share my daily thoughts with the world :)! Here we go.....(maybe)
